As a partner in an artist run initiative, Kerry Shepherdson co-founded 'Chutespace' a mini contemporary art gallery at M16 Artspace, in 2013 continuing to curate and manage the gallery for 9 years since.

Plant life, growth patterns, ocean currents, seasonal rhythms and love of nature inspire Kerry's art practice. The haptic senses influence her transformation and abstraction of ideas with an eye on colour, design and fluid painting techniques.

Kerry grew up in Queensland, Singapore/Malaya, South Australia and has lived her adult life with her husband and family in Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Kenya, Philippines, latterly settling in Canberra with a strong connection to the South Coast of New South Wales.

Her art practice is an expression of creativity nuanced by her formative training in Chinese Brush painting in Kuala Lumpur as well as the wonderful traditional arts and culture in Asia and Africa, her art education, artist colleagues and collaborators and ultimately her studio research and practice.
